Study Of An Investigational Drug For Schizophrenia

Description

Seeking men and women who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder for a study of an investigational drug for negative symptoms, which are thoughts, feelings, or behaviors normally present that are absent or diminished in people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.

Overview

This study is being done to develop the investigational drug. It has not yet been approved by any national health authority, including the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Participants in this study will be randomly selected to receive either the investigational drug or a placebo, which looks like the investigational drug but contains no active medicine. Participants will need to come off their current schizophrenia medication during the study.

What we're hoping for

Evaluate to find out what effects, good or bad, the investigational drug has on the symptoms of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.
