Monitoring For Atrial Fibrillation After Stroke Using Wearable Sensors

Description

Stroke survivors aged 50 and over sought for a study to develop and test a wearable sensor to monitor for atrial fibrillation (abnormal heartbeats)

Overview

This is a 2-part study to develop and test a wearable sensor to monitor stroke survivors for atrial fibrillation. Volunteers for the first part of the study will attend a 1-hour focus group to provide their opinions on what would make device work well for them. Volunteers for the second part of the study will be randomly assigned to wear different mobile heart monitor devices to see how well they work.

What we're hoping for

We hope to develop a wearable device that meets the needs of stroke survivors and effectively monitors for atrial fibrillation.
