Study Of An Experimental Dietary Supplement To Improve Omega-3 Dietary Deficiency For People With Lupus

Description

Seeking adults with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) for a study of an experimental dietary supplement to replenish omega-3, an essential nutrient that helps to prevent and manage heart disease.

Overview

We are studying whether an experimental dietary supplement improves omega-3 deficiency and slows down the progression of lupus and/or prevents disease flares. Half of the study participants will be given the experimental dietary supplement and the other half will be given a capsule filled with vegetable oil, also called a placebo. Neither the participants or the study staff will know who is getting the experimental supplement or the placebo.

What we're hoping for

We hope that the experimental dietary supplement will help reduce omega-3 dietary deficiency for people with lupus and slow and/or prevents disease flares
