Conquering Diseases

Genetic Variation, Stress, And Functional Outcomes After Stroke Rehabilitation (Strong)

Description

Recent stroke survivors sought for a study looking at how stress and your biology impact the results of rehabilitation therapy.

Overview

We will study stroke survivors starting 2-10 days after your stroke to identify factors that improve rehabilitation. We will look at biology by collecting saliva samples for DNA analysis. We will also ask you to complete questionnaires on topics like stress, relationships, beliefs and your emotional health, and conduct strength and motor tests.

What we're hoping for

We hope to improve rehabilitation following stroke by better understanding what makes different people respond better to therapy.
