Testing Immunotherapy Versus Observation In Patients With Hpv Throat Cancer

Description

Men and women with advanced HPV throat cancer sought for a study comparing the outcomes for people who get chemotherapy and radiation followed by experimental immunotherapy to those who get chemotherapy and radiation followed by observation.

Overview

We are studying whether adding immunotherapy helps prevent advanced HPV throat cancer from returning after treatment with chemotherapy and radiation. We will compare the outcomes between people who get the experimental immunotherapy to those who don't.

What we're hoping for

Use of immunotherapy has been shown to improve outcomes for people with advanced incurable HPV-related head and neck cancer. We hope that immunotherapy will keep cancer from returning for people whose advanced cancer is cured.
