Study Of An Investigational Device To Remove Blood Clots Causing Acute Ischemic Strokes

Description

Seeking men and women who are experiencing acute ischemic strokes caused by a blood clot blocking blood flow to a major artery in their brain for a study of an investigational device to remove the blood clot.

Overview

We are comparing how an investigational device to remove blood clots from the brain that are blocking blood flow and causing acute ischemic stroke to the usual device to study the safety and effectiveness of the investigational device. Participants in this study will be randomly chosen to be treated with either the investigational device or the usual device for surgical removal of the blood clot.

What we're hoping for

Evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational device compared to the usual device to remove blood clots blocking blood flow to the brain causing an acute ischemic stroke.
