Conquering Diseases

Investigational Treatment of Cancer by Direct Chemotherapy into the Abdomen.

Description

Seeking adult men and women who have cancer of the colon, rectum or appendix which has spread into the abdomen.

Overview

We are doing this study to determine how much chemotherapy can be safely administered directly into the abdomen while experiencing the fewest possible side effects. There are two common combinations (approved by FDA for treatment of colon or rectal cancer) of chemotherapy drugs used to treat this type of cancer. Each is typically given to patients through their veins. This study will give the standard chemotherapy through the veins and an additional drug directly into the abdomen.

What we're hoping for

Researchers hope that the combination of medication in this study will be useful in treating the targeted cancers.
