Study Of An Investigational Stem Cell Transplant For Treatment Resistant Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis

Description

Seeking men and women whose multiple sclerosis has remained active despite treatment for a study comparing blood stem cell transplantation to other available treatments for multiple sclerosis.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly chosen to receive either the investigational stem cell transplant or the usual treatment for multiple sclerosis. Those who are randomly chosen for the investigational stem cell transplant will have their stem cells collected from their bone marrow, receive chemotherapy to kill any immune cells and then have their stem cells returned through an infusion. The stem cell transplant process takes about 3 months and would include a hospital stay.

What we're hoping for

We are comparing blood stem cell transplantation to other available treatments for multiple sclerosis
