Study Looking At How Influenza Affects The Blood Cells Of Children

Description

Seeking children who have been diagnosed with influenza in the past 7 days and healthy children willing to donate a blood sample for a study of how influenza affects blood cells of children.

Overview

We are studying how blood cells are different in children who have been diagnosed with influenza and children who haven't had the flu. We are looking at the blood cells known as platelets and white blood cells known as leukocytes.

What we're hoping for

We hope that by comparing blood cells from children who have been diagnosed with influenza and children who haven't had the flu will help us better understand the role of blood cells in influenza infections.
