Treating Pulmonary Exacerbations in Cystic Fibrosis (STOP2)

Description

This research is studying different treatment approaches for patients with cystic fibrosis who have worsening of their lung symptoms.

Overview

This study wants to answer questions about the best way to treat patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) who have a worsening of their respiratory symptoms and will be treated with antibiotics. Doctors and patients want to make sure that patients get antibiotics long enough to get better but don’t treat too long and expose the patient to unnecessary risks. This study wants to know how long patients need to take antibiotics and if shorter treatment times work as well as longer ones.

What we're hoping for

We hope to find the most effective and safe time length that patients need to be treated with antibiotics.
