Description
This study is looking at an experimental drug for patients with chronic inflammation of the pancreas.
Overview
Chronic pancreatitis is a chronic or long-lasting inflammation of the pancreas. The purpose of this study is to learn if the study drug can help people with chronic pancreatitis. Right now there is no approved medication in the United States for the relief of the symptoms of chronic pancreatitis. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive the study drug or a placebo (an inactive substance).
What we're hoping for
We hope to learn what effects, good and bad, the study drug has on chronic pancreatitis or chronic inflammation of the pancreas..
