Study Of An Investigational Device To Remove Blockage From Blood Vessel In Brain Causing Ischemic Stroke

Description

Seeking men and women who are within 8 hours of having an ischemic stroke caused by a blockage or clot of a blood vessel in the brain for a study of an investigational device to remove the clot.

Overview

The study participants will have the investigational device used to remove the clot causing the stroke. If the doctor is unable to remove the clot with the investigational device after 3 attempts, they will use the standard device to remove the clot. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires before the procedure and at one week, one month and three months following the procedure.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether an investigational device to suction out a blood clot restricting blood flow to the brain causing a stroke is safe and effective in removing the clot.
