Mammography Screening Study (Tmist)

Description

This study is comparing two types of screening mammograms, Digital Mammograms and Tomosynthesis Mammograms, to see which is better for breast cancer screening.

Overview

The main purpose of this clinical trial is to determine whether screening for breast cancer with tomosynthesis mammography is superior to digital mammography. A digital mammogram has images of two flat views per breast while a tomosynthesis mammogram is a series of image slices through the breasts. Patients will be randomly assigned to which type of mammogram they will receive. The study also has optional blood and cheek cell collection studies.

What we're hoping for

We hope to learn if one type of mammogram is more effective at detecting breast cancer.
