Study Of Thc Levels In Children Coming To The Emergency Room For Sleepiness After Cannabis Exposure

Description

Looking for children under 18 who come to the emergency department with sleepiness or other signs after cannabis exposure to learn how THC levels relate to symptoms.

Overview

We will collect blood samples from participants when they are already being drawn for care at 3 times during their emergency room visit. They or their parent will also complete a questionnaire following the blood draw. About two days after the emergency room visit a post-visit survey will be sent for their parent to complete.

What we're hoping for

We are studying blood THC levels in children who come to the emergency department after cannabis exposure. We want to understand how these blood levels match up with symptoms, how long symptoms last, and what care choices are made.
