A Study Looking At Perceptions Related To "Kangaroo Care" And Exploring Interventions Between Mothers And Infants

Description

Seeking women 18 years and older who are mothers to infants who had previously been hospitalized in the NICU at UMass Memorial Health within the last 6 months for a study about skin-to-skin contact (called "Kangaroo Care")

Overview

We are interviewing mothers, healthcare providers, and community organization members to better understand feelings about skin-to-skin contact with infants (called "Kangaroo Care") and better understand barriers that may exist.

What we're hoping for

To better understand the knowledge, attitudes, barriers, and facilitators of Kangaroo Care in NICU and community settings among mothers of low birth weight or preterm infants and key hospital and community-based stakeholders through interviews.
