Study Of Whether An Artificial Intelligence Model Can Predict How Well Older Adults Heal From Surgery

Description

Seeking men and women aged 60 and older who are patients at UMass Memorial for a study of whether an Artificial Intelligence model can predict how well older adults heal from surgery.

Overview

Participants in this study will have their clinic visit recorded; have their grip strength, ability to stand up from a chair and walk tested; and, answer some questions. This will extend their usual clinic visit by 15-20 minutes. Afterward their medical record will be evaluated for up to 6 months to assess their ability to heal from any medical procedure they may have.

What we're hoping for

We are studying if artificial Intelligence can predict how well older adults heal from surgery by measuring grip strength, ability to stand up from a chair and walk in adults aged 60 and older and then observing their medical records for 6 months.
