Description

Seeking adults with type 2 diabetes and a history of heart disease or have high risk for heart disease for a study comparing two diabetes medications that have both been approved by the FDA to see if one is better than the other at reducing heart and kidney problems.

Overview

Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to be prescribed either a SGLT2 inhibitor or GLP-1 receptor agonists. All other diabetes care will be managed by their usual doctor.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether an SGLT2 inhibitor is better, worse, or the same as GLP-1 receptor agonist medications in preventing heart or kidney problems for people with type 2 diabetes.
