Study Of Viral And Bacterial Infections Causing Cough And Difficulty Breathing

Description

Seeking men and women who come to the emergency room because of a cough or difficulty breathing for a study collecting blood and nasal swabs to study respiratory illness.

Overview

Participants in this study will have their nose and/or mouth swabbed and have blood drawn. The researchers will then call three and twelve weeks from the emergency room visit to ask about your health. If preferred, these follow-up phone calls can be done as an office visit.

What we're hoping for

We are collecting swabs of the nose and mouth and collecting blood samples from people coming to the emergency room for cough or trouble breathing to better understand respiratory illnesses.
