A Study Of An Investigational Drug For Chronic Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia

Description

Seeking adults with Chronic Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) which has not responded to previous treatment for a study of an investigational drug injection to improve platelet counts.

Overview

Participants will be randomly assigned to get the investigational drug or placebo injection (looks like the drug, but contains no medicine). Following a screening period, there will study visits every week for 20 weeks. Weekly injections will be given for the first 8 weeks, then a 4-week period with no injections followed by another 8 weekly injection period. For participants who might benefit from continued access to the investigational drug there is a continuation study.

What we're hoping for

We are studying whether an investigational drug for chronic primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) is better, worse, or the same as placebo (looks like the drug, but contains no medicine) in improving platelet counts.
