Impact Of Maternal Stress On Black Mother And Their Infants

Description

Seeking Black pregnant women in their first trimester to study how stress may affect mothers and babies.

Overview

We are studying how stress experienced by pregnant Black mothers may affect their babies biologically. This includes collecting small blood samples from mothers during routine prenatal care, collecting cord blood at delivery, and asking mothers to complete stress questionnaires.

What we're hoping for

We hope to learn how maternal stress might pass to infants through biological markers in the blood.
