Seeking adults 18 years or older who have had 3 or more infections with Clostridium difficile (CDI) in the past 9 months including at the time they join the study. Half of the participants will be given the study drug and the other half will be given a placebo (fake pill). You cannot choose and will not be told which group you are in while in the study.

Participants of the SERES-012 study may decide at Week 8 (if eligible) to join SERES-013, a follow on study in which all participants will receive the study drug.
Seeking men and women with a clostridium difficile infection (CDI), also called C. Difficile or C. Diff, that has returned at least once for a study to see if an experimental drug is better than nothing in preventing additional episodes of CDI.
Seeking people whose recurrent Clostridium difficile (C. diff) infection has not responded to standard antibiotic treatments for a study to see if fecal microbiota transplantation is effective for treating C. diff infection.
